RABI (b. 1984) David Emanuel Mordechai Torres is a Los Angeles based conceptual and multidisciplinary artist whose work explores belief, identity, public ritual and the psychological impact of corporate and cultural systems. His practice spans installation, painting, sculpture, large scale public works and long running participatory experiments. Through projects such as WE BUY SOULS, Gen+Esc, and previous collaborative work with the collective CYRCLE, RABI engages audiences through immersive environments that merge the language of branding, bureaucracy and myth. His work has been exhibited internationally and continues to investigate how individuals navigate power, value and selfhood within contemporary culture.
His art can be seen in public and private collections, including that of Shepard Fairey, Ari Emanuel, Sean Combs, The Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Puerto Rico , MOCA Detroit, MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and the Contemporary art Center in New Orleans. During his time with CYRCLE Rabi collaborated with artists, brands and non-profits including HBO, Google, Uber, Pharrell, TED Prize winner - JR , James Lavelle, Pfizer, Chad Muska, Woodkid, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and Audi, among others. He’s been featured in publications such as the L.A. Times, The New York Times, L.A. Weekly, Huffington Post, Hypebeast, Lonely Planet and Complex Magazine.
